Abstract

A large body of literature documents depelopmental, functional, pathological and experimental aspects of optic nerve glia and progenitor cells (Vaughn, 1969; Skoff et al., 1976; Tennekoon et al., 1977; Aguayo et al., 1978; Juurlink and Federoff, 1980; Privat et al., 1981; Raff et al., 1983).
