Abstract

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) is the most common sarcoma in adults, with a frequency of 15%–20% (Suit et al. 1975; Weiss and Enzinger 1978). Soft tissue lesions of the extremities predominate. Only 16% of published cases concern the abdominal cavity, where the retroperitoneum represents the most frequent site (Weiss and Enzinger 1978). If secondary abdominal lesions are excluded, in particular after retroperitoneal involvement (Goldman et al. 1986), primary digestive tract MFH is very rare.
