Darstellung zwei- und dreidimensionaler Strömungen

Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag behandelt Aspekte und Probleme der graphischen Darstellung von numerisch berechneten Strömungen auf zweidimensionalen Mannigfaltigkeiten und in dreidimensionalen Gebieten. Zunächst werden die partiellen Differentialgleichungen der Strömungsmechanik (Navier-Stokes-Gleichungen) und die hier verwendeten Algorithmen zur numerischen Lösung dieser Gleichungen angegeben. Es werden dann unterschiedliche Darstellungsformen für Strömungen vorgestellt und verglichen.

Abstract

This paper discusses the visualisation of numerically computed flows on two-dimensional manifolds and in three-dimensional regions. We present the partial differential equations of fluid flow (Navier-Stokes equations) and algorithms for their numerical computation. In the main part of the paper we present and compare various methods for the graphical representation of fluid flows.
