Abstract
The recently published quasar catalogues (Hewitt and Burbidge 1987, Véron-Cetty and Véron 1987) clearly show the well-known fact that our knowledge of the numbers and distributions of quasars is still very incomplete. Thus, having available, as part of the MRSP, complete scans of both direct and objective prism plates, it seemed useful to include an automated quasar search programme. Here we communicate preliminary results.
