Abstract
Since reliability analyses of tall buildings under wind loading significantly depend on on accurate description of the wind-excitation process, the wind forces as well as a realistic modeling of the structural properties (including the effect of soil-structure interaction) a simultaneous consideration of these effects is required. Otherwise the results of reliability analyses may not lead to realistic estimates of the structural failure probability. Hence in this paper the effects of the coupling of bending- and torsional modes, the soil-structure interaction as well as the properties of the structural stiffness on the reliability estimates are analyzed utilizing a numerical example. From the results it can be seen, that the parameters metioned above significantly influence the estimates of the structural reliability.
