Abstract

The main aim of this contribution is to present, very briefly, some essential conceptual, policy, managerial, organizational, and functional aspects of primary health care (PHC) in Yugoslavia, especially in relation to the district concept recently launched by WHO. In this respect, the work does not represent any research results, although there are many research projects in PHC in Yugoslavbia, even in my institute, and I am personally involved as a coordinator in some of them.
