Abstract

Plasma-exchange (PE) was introduced in neurology as a treatment for myasthenia gravis in 1976 (29) and had its fore-runner in thoracic duct drainage in the same disease (2). Since then it has been used as an experimental therapy in various neurological disorders, mostly of presumed autoimmune origin.
