Abstract

This paper provides an overview of “The Oleophilic Advisor,” a consultative expert system, which establishes a certainty associated with a material’s wettability; its ability to attract oil. The system was developed at Rockwell International Science Center, Thousand Oaks, California, and is based on the expertise of Dr. Martin Kendig. An early release of M.1., a Teknowledge knowledge engineering tool is used as the expert system development shell.
