Abstract

The influence of changes of a reinforced concrete mushroom floor on the distribution of internal forces in it is studied, in view of a strengthening of the plate by means of externally bonded steel strips. The finite element modelling of the plate is discussed, and a comparison of finite element and finite difference results is made. An evaluation of the obtained results, from the design engineers viewpoint, is given.
