Zusammenfassung
Es mag zunächst vielleicht erstaunen, dass die Nachfrage nach einem bestimmten Gut - in unserem Fall nach dem „Gut“ Geld - einer eigenständigen Analyse unterzogen wird, und dass nicht einfach die allgemein übliche mikroökonomische Nachfragetheorie herangezogen wird. Oder wie LAIDLER (1977) es ausdrückt:
„It may strike the reader as strange that one should talk about the theory of the demand for money at all. This is not the economists usual approach to such problems. Textbooks of microeconomics do not contain chapters with titles like ‘The Theory of the Demand for Refrigerators’, but rather present a generalized analytic framework in terms of which the demand for any good can be treated.“ (S. 51)
