Summary
This paper presents a brief review of the unsteadiness of shock-induced turbulent boundary layer separation. A large fraction of what is known about the unsteadiness comes from measurements of wall pressure fluctuations and, consequently, these data are the focus of the review. In the final discussion and conclusions, some suggestions are offered for experiments which would help improve our understanding of this phenomenon.
