Summary
Dynamic tensile tests have been performed on copper specimens containing a local pre-strain, level of which lays between 0 and 15%. Using a high speed streak camera technique, the evolution of the strain in each section of the specimen is determined against the time. The plastic strain front propagation along the specimen is studied, and the influence of the initial defect is analyzed and discussed, showing the heterogeneities of deformation which are induced.
