Summary
The paper presents an overview of the plant history to date (August 31, 1984) and also ascertains some of the principal operating characteristics for the major components/systems, heliostats, receivers, steam generator, and electrical generator. Details are given of the days of operation, operating hours, and major outages that have occurred at the plant since November 1981. In addition, attempts are made at defining characteristic plant operation under normal operating conditions on days which would be classed as good solar days.
