Zusammenfassung
Als Photoleitung wird die durch elektromagnetische Strahlung erzeugte Änderung der Leitfähigkeit eines elektrischen Wider standes bezeichnet, die auf eine direkte Wechselwirkung der Photonen mit den Ladungsträgern zurückzuführen ist und nicht auf eine Erhöhung der Gittertemperatur. Bei solch einem Wechselwirkungsprozeß wird allgemein durch Absorption eines Photons ein Ladungsträger aus einem Energiezustand mit niedriger Beweglichkeit in einen solchen mit größerer Beweglichkeit angeregt. Entsprechend der Natur der beteiligten Energiezustände wird die Photoleitung als extrinsisch, intrinsisch oder auf Intrabandanregungen zurückgehend klassifiziert und hier in drei Unterkapiteln behandelt. Die Messung der Photoleitfähigkeit kann als Spannungsänderung bei eingeprägtem Strom oder als Stromänderung bei konstanter Spannung am Photowiderstand erfolgen und wird entsprechend in V/W oder A/W angegeben (Abschnitt 2.2). Eine weitere Möglichkeit besteht in der Messung der Verluste in einem Mikrowellen-Hohlleitersystem, in dem ein Photowiderstand plaziert ist.
