Abstract

Use of lasers and laser systems continues to grow steadily with important application areas as materials processing, information handling, audio and video equipment, optical fiber communication in addition to measurement and laboratory science. The expansion into industrial processes and production plants requires overall improvement of the trade-offs between performance characteristics, such as dynamic range, temporal stability, and power control.
