Abstract
In the final assembly process of the ship’s hull, hydraulic or electromechanical supporting-shifting units for positioning of large sections and blocks are implemented. This raises the necessity of simple and accurate determination of dynamically changing spatial orientation of structural element being positioned. The traditional measurement methods are in this case not applicable. A proposition of a laser measuring system which makes it possible to follow changes in the position of the construction in course of positioning operation is presented in the paper. Together with developed electronic control system, the pro - posed measuring system enables to automatize the positioning operation carried out by hydraulic supporting-shifting units.
