Abstract

Two main approaches for analytical models have emerged since the introduction of CAN-Q by Solberg. 1) Stochastic and 2) dynamic or operational. The stochastic approach has been applied with relative success but with the inherently statistical steady state assumption. The real-time behavior of a FMS is however dynamic and as such, a system theory based model would appear more appropriate.
