Zusammenfassung

Aus den zahlreichen Anwendungen der Fourier-Transformation in der Signalverarbeitung sei zur Einführung ein Beispiel ausgewählt, das einerseits besonders deutlich die tragende Rolle der Fourier-Transformation zeigt und andererseits eine Schilderung der Zusammenhänge unmittelbar aus der Anschauung heraus gestattet: die Bestimmung der Oberflächenstrukturen von Planeten durch Zeit-Frequenz-Analyse von Radarimpulsen.
