Zusammenfassung
Das Phänomen des Kokakauens, das in gewissen Gebieten Südamerikas aktuell ist, haben wir Europäer erst wahrgenommen, nachdem das Reinalkaloid Kokain auch bei uns als Suchtdroge Einzug gehalten hatte. Mit dem in mancher Beziehung analogen Phänomen des Khatkauens scheint es eine ganz ähnliche Bewandtnis zu haben. Immerhin ist die Sache noch nicht so weit gediehen, daß das Hauptwirkprinzip des Khat, das sog. Cathinon, schon zum Reißer auf dem Drogenmarkt geworden wäre. Ich werde auf diesen Punkt noch zurückkommen.
