Instability Wave Patterns from Harmonic Point and Line Sources in Laminar Boundary Layers

  • Conference paper
Laminar-Turbulent Transition

Summary

This paper presents the results of recent calculations of wave patterns produced by point and line harmonic sources in laminar boundary layers. It is shown that quasi-parallel stability theory can produce results that are in good agreement with experimental measurements in both the Blasius and rotating-disk boundary layers.
