Presentation of an Ergonomically Designed Work Place for Anaesthesia
For 20 years I have been perplexed and irritated by the inconvenient and cumbersome design of our various instruments; by their poor arrangement; by the fact that cables are left trailing and extra supplies standing around, with many obstacles on the floor likely to cause an accident; by the instability of infusion stands and other equipment; and by poorly fitting collectors and couplings and poorly adaptable connectors. Many of our instruments are still impractical, too delicate, too heavy, too expensive, time-consuming and sometimes enervating. In the past 10 years all these factors have driven me to design and construct my own new work places.
