Summary

The well known economical and technological advantages of metal forming processes should be utilized in small batch production. Based on the rotary swaging process the CNC radial forming machine RUMX 2000 has been developed to represent a machine tool system of high flexibility.

Detailed investigations on process behaviour and machine control guarantee a safe and efficient operation of the system. Complete computer support in part programming and machine control allows the integration of this concept into a flexible manufacturing system where economical criteria determine an application at a minimum of overall costs.
