Abstract
In addition to the smolt stage, the salmon endocrine system also undergoes profound readjustments during the spawning migration. To understand our investigations on endocrine regulation of olfactory imprinting, which are presented in Chapter 5, some of these fluctuations in hormone levels during spawning must be considered.
