Zusammenfassung

Die Auswirkungen der neuen Kommunikationsdienste auf die Entwicklung der Verteilten Datenverarbeitung werden untersucht. Als Probleme werden näher behandelt der Trend zur Desintegration bezüglich Organisationsebene,Programmebene, Datenebene und Kommunikationsebene sowie die eingeschränkte Mobilität der Mitarbeiter. Bezüglich der Machbarkeit und Wirtschaftlichkeit verteilter Datenverarbeitungssysteme werden folgende Punkte näher untersucht: Standardisierung der Architektur verbundener Systeme, spezielle Eigenschaften verteilter Systeme, Kosten und Personalverfügbarkeit.

Zusammenfassend werden folgende Thesen begründet:

• Neue Kommunikationsdienste bieten eine Chance, die notwendige Standardisierung der Architektur von verbundenen Rechnersystemen zu fördern.

• Die neuen Kommunikationssysteme reduzieren den technischen und wirtschaftlichen Zwang, verteilte Datenverarbeitung einzuführen; sie sind für viele Anwendungsgebiete eine Alternative zur verteilten Datenverarbeitung.

• Neue Kommunikationssysteme sind weitgehend eine notwendige, aber keine hinreichende Voraussetzung für verteilte Datenverarbeitung. Für die graphische Informationsverarbeitung in verteilten Systemen sind die neuen Kommunikationsdienste praktisch eine conditio sine quo non.

• Die Integration von Faksimile- und Textübertragung sowie von Computer-Datenübertragung bedeutet einen Fortschritt für die Organisationsmöglichkeit der Unternehmen, und zwar insbesondere zur Eindämmung der möglichen Desintegration.

Summary

The impact of the new communications services on the development of distributed systems is analysed. The paper deals with the trend towards disintegration with respect to organization, programs, data and communication relations and with limited personnel mobility. There is a discussion on the feasibility and the financial aspects of distributed systems. In this context the following points are considered: standardization of the architecture of connected systems, special features of distributed systems, cost aspects, and availability of personnel.

Arguments are given for the following four theses:

• New communications services give the chance to achieve the necessary standardization of the architecture of the connected systems.

• New communications systems reduce the technical and economical pressure for distributed processing. They form an adequate alternative for many applications.

• New communications systems are a necessary but not sufficient precondition for distributed systems. The new communications services turn out to be a conditio sine qua non for graphic information processing in distributed systems.

• The integration of facsimile-, text-, and data communication is of great importance for the development of new forms of organization in enterprises, especially with respect to potential disintegration.
