Zusammenfassung

Aufbau und Anordnung des arteriellen und venösen Gefäßsystems ließen lange Zeit angiographische Untersuchungen als nicht möglich bzw. als nicht erfolgversprechend erscheinen. Nativdiagnostik und Myelographie wurden ständig verbessert, die Gefäßdarstellungen dagegen auffallend vernachlässigt. Wenn auch zögernd, erfolgte darin im letzten Jahrzehnt ein Wandel. Die Beschäftigung mit diesem Problem, Verbesserungen der Injektions- und Aufnahmetechnik, Angiotomographie, Subtraktionsverfahren sowie ein systematischer Ausbau und routinemäßige Anwendung erbrachten in relativ kurzer Zeit deutliche Fortschritte. Entsprechend dem anatomischen Aufbau gelingt es jedoch nicht — im Gegensatz zur zerebralen Angiographie —, durch eine intraarterielle Injektion auch die venösen Abflußwege mit darzustellen. Die angiographische Untersuchung beinhaltet also einmal die Arteriographie, zum anderen die Phlebographie.
