Abstract

We examine the question of for what temperatures the mapping of an easy-plane ferromagnet in a field to the sG, the planar and the isotropic models are good approximations. We shall do this by comparing numerical transfer matrix calculations for these models. As far as dynamic properties are concerned, we shall present and compare dynamic form factors for the easy-plane ferromagnet in a field and sG models, as obtained from computer simulations, to unravel the physical origin of the excitation spectrum as observed in neutron-scattering experiments [1].
