Abstract
It is well known that bleomycin, developed by Umezawa et al. in 1965, is now widely used not only in Japan but also in other countries as an anticancer drug, specifically effective against squamous cell carcinoma and malignant lymphoma, giving excellent clinical effects. It is, however, accompained by the occurrence of pulmonary fibrosis as one of its adverse effects, creating problems as to the measures to counteract it.
