Abstract

The following is intended as a guide for the preparation of the horse for an elective orthopedic procedure. As we have gained more experience with the management of seriously injured horses, more cases have moved out of the emergency category into a more elective mode. We feel that this has improved our results by allowing time for planning and the assemblage of appropriate staff.
