The Physics of Selenium and Tellurium

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Solid-State Sciences ((SSSOL,volume 13))

Abstract

The study of the physical properties of tellurium under pressure has a long history of more than fifty years beginning from the first BRIDGMAN experiments [1]. The major part of the experimental works has been concerned with the study of the pressure influence on lattice constants [1–4] and tellurium band gap determined on the conductivity and the Hall measurements [5–11].
