Abstract
As indicated in the preceding chapter, extensive experimental data were published during the past twenty years, which deal with what are now known as the circadian activity rhythms of small birds and mammals. For the benefit of those not familiar with these kinds of experiments, a few words about methods and their limitations are essential.
