Abstract
Distributed data processing is a much talked about subject. Increasingly people active in medical computing are looking to the concept of distributed data processing to solve their needs. What I would like to do today is discuss the challenges of this concept. From our experience at Shared Medical Systems, we are convinced that distributed data processing is of enormous potential benefit in the medical area. At the same time it is complex and very demanding.
