Studies of E-Type Jahn-Teller Ions by Resonant Cross-Relaxation

Abstract

Experimental measurements and an analysis of the effects of E-type Jahn-Teller ions on the measured spin-lattice relaxation time of Cr3+ and Fe3+ ions in Al2O3 are described. It is found that resonant cross-relaxation occurs to Cr2+, Mn3+ or Pt3+ ions.
