Abstract

Most or all animal behavior is related to the environment in one way or another, but this chapter reviews behavioral responses to specific components or factors of the physical environment, viz. space, time, weather, etc. Relations to animals of other species, as well as conspecifics, will be considered separately (Chap. 7; Parts 3 and 4).
