Abstract
At the W.H.O. Conference in Turku (May 27–30, 1974) which examined the progress of the WHO Comprehensive Programme on Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention after Myocardial Infarction, it was noted that while there was good agreement on a programme of physical rehabilitation which was well documented and universally accepted (with minor regimal differences) this was not true of the psychosocial aspects. The meeting agreed that such aspects were of great importance but it was obvious that methods of evaluation and treatment differed considerably from centre to centre.
