Abstract
In Chapter 6 I -developed a macroscopic formulation of electro-diffusion theory that was used in Chapters 7 through 10 to examine transmembrane ion movement when tc ≪ tD and ionic energy is essentially unaltered by the presence of electric fields or concentration gradients. In Chapter 12 I connected the macroscopic model with the microscopic model developed in Chapter 11. In this chapter I examine some of the steady state and time dependent properties of the macroscopic model.
