Abstract
In Chapter 6 I developed a macroscopic approach to trans-membrane ion movement in which physical intuition was employed to develop the various ionic conservation equations. The same basic physical model was developed in the previous chapter, but from a microscopic basis. It is the purpose of this chapter to examine the connection between the two approaches.
