Intra- and Interprotomeric Interactions between the Catalytic Regions of Aspartokinase I-Homoserine Dehydrogenase I from Escherichia coli K 12

Abstract

Fragments carrying one or the other of the two activities of the bifunctional enzyme aspartokinase I-homoserine dehydrogenase I have been isolated. Their study allows the determination of their localization on the intact subunit. By different approaches, the interactions leading to the regulation of both activities and to the building of the oligomeric structure are put in evidence.
