Summary
Plasma concentration of 11-OHCS vas measured in 60 parturients and synchronically in arterial and venous cordblood by means of fluorography. 11-OHCS values in nonpregnant women were on an average of 15 μg/lOO ml plasma. During labour they were 5 times higher in the parturient’s plasma and twice as high in the vessels of the umbilical cord. The levels of 11-OHCG were significantly lower in cases with primary cesarean sections and significantly higher in overweight women and newborns. 11-OHCS seems to be predominantly of maternal origin since the relationship between the value of the mother and the child was almost the same, and no differences betveen ven. and art. umbilic. were revealed.
