In vivo Perfusion of the Human Liver with 7α3H-Testosterone

Summary

3H-testosterone was injected into the portal vein of a 40-year-old man. In the following 40 min 8 blood samples were withdrawn from one of the liver veins and analyzed for free and conjugated steroids. The data showed that free testosterone underwent rapid conjugation and metabolism. The metabolite pattern in plasma and urine is reported.
