Zusammenfassung

Die Studie konzentriert sich auf die nicht häufig genug gestellte Diagnose „malignes Melanom“ der hinteren Uvea bei trüben Medien. Trotz der erweiterten und differenzierten diagnostischen Möglichkeiten ist auch heute noch jedes 10. maligne Melanom der hinteren Uvea klinisch unerwartet. Diese in den 50er Jahren von Reese, Kirk und Petty und Makley und Teed herausgearbeitete Zahl konnte an dem Material des histo-pathologischen Labors der Universitäts-Augenklinik Hamburg aus den Jahren 1966–1974 bestätigt werden. (300 i.o. maligne Melanome — davon 36 klinisch unerwartet).
