All-Optical Recognition of Terabit-per-Second Bit Patterns

Abstract

We demonstrate all-optical recognition of terabit-per-second bit patterns. An input bit pattern is compared to multiple patterns stored in a computer-generated hologram, and the correlation output occurs into different spatial locations depending on the input bit pattern.
