Zusammenfassung

Das maligne Melanom der Haut gehört neben dem Bronchialkarzinom der Frau zu den bösartigen Erkrankungen mit der höchsten Steigerung der Inzidenz. Heute erkrankt bereits jeder 100. Einwohner an diesem Malignom (USA, 1991) und eine weitere Steigerung wird erwartet [6]. Zwar werden die Primärtumoren maligner Melanome inzwischen überwiegend durch die Dermatologen behandelt, aber auch die Chirurgie wird zukünftig in zunehmendem Maße mit Melanompatienten befaßt sein, zumal bei jedem 3.–10. Patienten im Verlauf dieser Erkrankung mit der Entwicklung von Metastasen zu rechnen ist.
