Abstract

Non-linear polarization spectroscopy in the frequency domain (NLPF) is a special variant of optical mixing, the third order coupling of optical fields which are in resonance with molecular electronic transitions. The application of NLPF to organic molecules in the condensed phase aims at the elucidation of ultrafast relaxation processes of excited states in connection with mechanisms of spectral band broadening.
