Zusammenfassung

In diesem Kapitel werden Analyseverfahren für zeitdiskrete Verkehrsmodelle behandelt. Es handelt sich um Modelle, bei denen die Zeitkomponente in äquidistanten Abständen diskretisiert wird. Die Betrachtung zeitdiskreter Systeme und deren Modellbildung gewinnt zunehmend an Bedeutung in Hochgeschwindigkeitskommunikationssystemen, in denen Dateneinheiten konstanter Länge übermittelt werden. Beispiele sind Zellen konstanter Länge in ATM-Kommunikationsnetzen (ATM: Asynchroner Transfer Modus, Basistechnologie für Breitbandkommunikationsnetze) oder Slots in HS-LAN (HS-LAN: high-speed local area network, lokales Rechnernetz im Hochgeschwindigkeitsbereich).
