Abstract
Freud (1917) and Kübler-Ross (1969) differentiate three stages of working through grief after the loss of a loved one:
-
1.
Denial of reality (Kübler-Ross also includes anger and negotiating);
-
2.
Depression;
-
3.
Acceptance and adjustment to the new reality.
