Zusammenfassung

Die bildgebende Diagnostik neurologischer Störungen im Kindesalter hat sich seit Einführung der zerebralen Computertomographie und der Kernspintomographie entscheidend verändert. Standardverfahren, wie z.B. die zerebrale Angiographie, wurden zu Spezialuntersuchungen mit eingeschränkter Indikation, Pneumenzephalographie und Ventrikulographie konnten aus dem diagnostischen Spektrum gestrichen werden. Auf der anderen Seite spielt die Ultraschalldiagnostik gerade während der ersten Lebensmonate eine zunehmend entscheidende Rolle und steht eine weitere Verbreitung der Kernspintomographie im Kopf- und Wirbelsäulenbereich bevor. Für den Röntgenarzt bedeutet dieser Wandel einerseits eine erhebliche Er-leichterung und Abkehr von invasiven Techniken, andererseits ein Umdenken in röntgenanatomischen Vorstellungen und in der räumlichen Einsicht in die komplizierte Struktur des Gehirns und des Rückenmarks. Dazu kommt die notwendige Auseinandersetzung mit der Diagnostik nun erstmals sichtbarer und z. B. meßbarer Weichteilstrukturen, die mit guter räumlicher Auflösung und neuen Kennwerten wie „Dichte“ oder „Si-gnalverhalten“ abgebildet werden.
