Autosolitons in the Form of Current Filaments and Electric Field Domains in Semiconductors and Devices

Abstract

A review of the theoretical, numerical and experimental results of investigations of autosolitons in the form of current filaments and electric field domains in semiconductors and semiconductor devices is presented. Main attention is given to a qualitative description and to the physics of phenomena. Properties of current filaments and electric field domains which appear in semiconductors and devices with a positive differential conductivity are discussed.
