Abstract
The species specificity of target organ toxicity has been the basis for the understanding of toxic mechanism and development of new active chemicals in the areas of pharmaceutics and agrochemicals. The demonstration of selective toxicity is evident in comparative studies in both animals and plants. The development of selective herbicides is a clear example from the plant kingdom.
