Zusammenfassung

Maligne Lymphome sind Neoplasien der Lymph-knoten und anderer lymphatischer Gewebe wie Milz, Thymus und Waldeyer-Rachenring. Die Non-Hodgkin-Lymphome (NHL) sind eine seltene Tumorerkrankung. Die Angaben zur Inzidenz für die Gesamtheit der nodalen und extranodalen NHL schwanken zwischen 8 und 12 Neuerkrankungen auf 100 000 Einwohner pro Jahr (Otter et al. 1989 b). Die jährliche Erkrankungshäufigkeit in Deutschland beträgt für alle malignen Lymphome etwa 6/100 000/Jahr. Der Altersgipfel für NHL vom niedrigen Malignitätsgrad liegt im 6. –7. Lebensjahrzehnt; sie kommen in der Altersgruppe unter 25 Jahren sehr selten und unter dem 18. Lebensjahr praktisch nie vor. Für alle Lymphome vom hohen Malignitätsgrad gilt, daß sie in allen Altersgruppen vorkommen, mit einem Gipfel in den ersten beiden Lebensjahrzehnten und im höheren Lebensalter (Lennert u. Feller 1992). Männer werden bei allen NHL häufiger betroffen als Frauen (1,7:1). Das Burkitt-Lymphom kommt in Zentralafrika und Neuguinea endemisch vor, während es im übrigen nur sporadisch beobachtet wird. Die Erkrankungshäufigkeit scheint insgesamt zuzunehmen, die Gründe hierfür sind noch unklar.
