Abstract
Nonseminomatous germ cell tumors of the mediastinum represent a rare subset of both mediastinal tumors and germ cell cancer. Before cisplatin- based chemotherapy, the outlook for these patients was grim. Recent reports utilizing cisplatin-based chemotherapy with adjuvant surgery when necessary have demonstrated a considerable improvement in outcome.
